Webinars are hosted monthly and provide Introductory training relevant to Land Management in Ontario First Nations.
Join us on Wednesday, Jan. 28 from 1 – 3 p.m. for OALA’s January Webinar: Policy 101. This Webinar introduces Indigenous land managers to the foundations of policy development through a practical case study on drafting, implementing, and monitoring a Land Transaction Request Policy and Procedure. Drawing on real examples and a complete policy template, the session walks participants through the policy life cycle and demonstrates how sound procedures support consistent, community‑aligned land governance. The webinar also situates these processes within the broader Indigenous land management governance regimes in Ontario, highlighting the treaties, agreements, legislation, regulations, and Land Codes that give authority to local policy. Participants will leave with tools they can adapt for their own communities and use to train others.
Time: 1:00 – 3:00pm EST
A Zoom Meeting invitation will be sent directly to all OALA members. There is no requirement to register for virtual events.
