This 2.5-day training provides a practical overview of the Addition to Reserve (ATR) process using the NALMA Additions to Reserve Toolkit as the foundation, with additional tools and resources created by OALA that are incorporated throughout.
Participants will work through key stages and considerations in the ATR process, including early planning, land acquisition, designation, environmental and survey requirements, third-party interests, and the different phases of an ATR. OALA’s ATR Coordinator, Georgette Howard, will also introduce practical checklists, guides and sample resources designed to help First Nation lands staff better organize and navigate their ATR work.
